A word from the organizers

From 24 to 28 June 2024, the Quantum Reactive Scattering community gathered in Istanbul for the 17th edition of the workshop series initiated by David Clary in 1990 — and, for the first time, in Türkiye.

We are deeply grateful to our invited speakers and to every participant who travelled to Istanbul and filled the Yıldız Campus auditorium with five days of science and discussion. Our thanks also go to the Yıldız Technical University Rectorate for hosting us on the historic Yıldız Palace grounds, to our sponsors and partners, and to the helping hands who made every day run smoothly.

It was an honour to welcome you. We hope you left Istanbul with new ideas, new collaborations and good memories.

The week

• Monday, 24 June
  Opening talk by David Clary, “Max Born and the Founders of Quantum Scattering Theory”. In the evening, a mini classical concert by violinist Ozan Cem Baş, the QRS 2024 group photo, and the welcome reception with a speech by Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK.
• Tuesday, 25 June
  Scientific sessions, an optional guided tour of Istanbul’s historic landmarks, and an evening cocktail on a boat along the Bosphorus.
• Wednesday, 26 June
  Scientific sessions, followed by the poster session with 3-minute poster talks.
• Thursday, 27 June
  Scientific sessions and the gala dinner at the Hisar Restaurant, overlooking the Bosphorus.
• Friday, 28 June
  Final sessions and closing remarks.
